Since 1984, Samuel Adams Boston Lager has used the world’s finest hand-selected ingredients to create a perfectly balanced and complex original brew. So, why change a classic? The recipe hasn’t changed. Boston Lager Remastered still uses Koch’s great-great grandfather’s mid-19th century original recipe but has evolved the process to reduce filtration, incorporating a traditional German practice of biological acidification while dropping the roughness from the husks of the barley. The result is a brighter, easier-drinking beer that leaves a little more sparkle in every glass. Boston Lager Remastered is easier-drinking and more refreshing than ever before. Its classic complex-yet-balanced flavor profile features a backbone of caramel and toffee malt notes and a distinct noble hop character with hints of pine and citrus for a crisp finish.

At Saltaire we're always looking for ways to refresh our core range of cask beers and one style that's been missing, until now, was a traditional Best Bitter. Our core bitter, Titus, is very popular, but at 3.9% it isn’t really a ‘Best’ Bitter which usually has a higher in ABV with a fuller body and more flavour. We also wanted to use all British malt and hops in the recipe. Right now we’re hearing plenty of noise from the market that there just aren’t enough breweries making a Best Bitter. After years of exciting and progressive beer development maybe people are starting to hanker after something a bit more traditional? US brewers are even starting to look at traditional British styles such as bitter and mild to add to their predominantly IPA and pale offerings. We asked Ben, one of our brewers, to develop a recipe and the result is Saltaire Best, Ben's first commercially released beer recipe! For this beer we wanted to stay traditional with no ‘modern twists’ or special ingredients, just a straight forward, authentic beer, that’s satisfying and well balanced. We used wheat malt for head retention, crystal malt for colour, mouthfeel and sweetness, and roasted barley for colour and to bring a spicy, satisfying depth of flavour. A blend of British hops – Admiral, Challenger and Goldings come together to complement the malt flavours with notes of orange and subtle sweet spiciness.

Previously sold in the UK in gold coloured labels/cans as Carlsberg Export. The current UK Carlsberg Export is the same as the standard Carlsberg Export. In Italy this one is sold as "Carlsberg Pilsner" with 5% ABV.

Spitfire Amber Kentish Ale

Spitfire is one of the UK’s best-loved beers with an international reputation as a Great British Classic. Since its inception as a one-off brew back in 1990, Spitfire has enjoyed phenomenal success, earning a Royal Warrant and protected status as a Kentish Ale. A true classic, Spitfire Amber (draught: 4.2% ABV; bottle/can/mini keg: 4.5% ABV) is the head of the Spitfire family and a true taste of Kent. It was first brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, played out in the skies above Kentish soil. It is brewed using 100% Kentish hops, the finest malt and water drawn from a well deep beneath Shepherd Neame’s Faversham brewery. Spitfire Amber combines the pick of Kentish hops (Target, Challenger, East Kent Goldings, First Gold) to layer bitter orange marmalade flavour on top of sweet biscuits and caramel malts for a peppery dry finish. While the great taste has remained constant throughout its history, the Spitfire family has grown to include golden ale and lager, each imbued with the distinctive Spitfire spirit. Today Spitfire has a dynamic new look reflecting the nature of the iconic plane that inspired its creation and befitting its status as an ale of substance and character.

Staropramen Granat is a unique lager which proudly embodies our brewing traditions. This beer is made based on the original recipe from 1884. The special sprinkling process, mixing pale and specialty malts is what gives the beer its unique granat (ruby red) color.
